Moving for the Mind: The benefits of Exercise for Mental Wellbeing
On 13th May at 12pm, the first day of Mental Health Awareness Week, we'll be talking about this year's theme of movement for good mental health and wellbeing. The session will cover everything from the statistics and science behind exercise for mental health, all the way through to how to change your exercise habits.

Simon Taylor, Head of Corporate Wellbeing at York Mind Hi, I'm Simon, and my career to-date has focused primarily in wellbeing programme design and management, which followed an early interest in personal wellness and behaviour change. I now apply my project management, coaching and leadership skills to run the Corporate Wellbeing Team at York Mind, where we work to provide impactful services to improve the mental health of organisations in and around York. |

Louisa Strain, Mental Health and Wellbeing Partner and volunteer Coach
Louisa is Mental Health and Wellbeing Partner at Maria Mallaband Care Group as well as a volunteer Coach for York Mind. She is an EMCC accredited coach, trained at postgraduate level, as well as a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor. She is a MHFA England Instructor member and has also studied CBT, self-compassion, transactional analysis and mindfulness. Louisa is passionate about improving mental health and wellbeing, particularly through physical exercise, and specialises in mindset and behavioural change to enable individuals and workplaces to thrive. |
