Counselling Manager

30 hours per week (some evening cover required)

£26,250 per annum pro rata

Are you a qualified counsellor (accredited, or eligible for and working towards  accreditation with the BACP/UKCP) with exceptional project management skills looking for a new challenge?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and dedicated Counselling Manager who will provide overall management of our three counselling service streams:

  • Young People’s (16-25 year olds),
  • Carers’
  • General (adult)

The role will include day to day operational management of the young people’s service and supporting the Senior Counselling Lead and Counselling Coordinator to develop and expand our successful adult counselling services.

Working between our offices at 30 Clarence Street and at Highcliffe House, Clifton in York, you will be responsible for the day to day operations for the young people’s service including promotion and publicity, triaging and assessing young people, managing waiting lists, regular monitoring, evaluation and report writing. Strong communication skills and adaptability are a must!

This role will be a varied and demanding one but will give the right person the opportunity to be instrumental in developing the vital counselling services at York Mind.

Essential requirements for this role include having a Graduate diploma, a comprehensive understanding of counselling theory and practice, experience of working with young people, supporting volunteers and excellent administrative skills.

The Head of Operations is a newly created post to help the organisation to develop its infrastructure to support current operations and future growth. We are looking for an individual with significant experience in HR management, a proven ability to operate strategically and who is able to take the lead on IT and facilities management.
