York Mind exists in order to promote recovery from mental ill-health, emotional well-being and
independent living.  We are continually reviewing and updating the services that we provide.

Counselling

Our Counsellors offer a regular space for you to talk about the issues that you have in your life. They are trained to help you explore your feelings and guide you through the issues affecting your life. We offer counselling sessions during the daytime and on some evenings and, in addition to our general counselling service, we have counsellors who work specifically with carers or young people.

Adults Coaching Service

If you would like to experience coaching, you may qualify for this support through the Adult 1:1 service here at York Mind. We offer up to 6 coaching sessions, which can be spread out over up to 6 months. Each session lasts for up to an hour, and coaching sessions are currently offered online.

Yoga

York Mind Activities

We run a range of activities throughout the year. To access these you must be aged 18 or over, live in the City of York, identify with mental health and well-being issues and; wish to access support. Our facilitated Peer Support sessions provide a safe space for people to share experiences and develop coping strategies.

Advocacy

Our Advocates work with you to help you to say what you want, secure your rights, represent your interests and obtain services you need. We deliver a range of advocacy services including NHS complaints; Care Act advocacy and general advocacy support.

RISE

RISE (Reducing Inequalities, Supporting Employment), is a support programme for adults in North Yorkshire and York who are currently out of work and have barriers to engaging with employment and/or training.

The Staying OK project helps you to future proof your mental health and be prepared for when something unexpected knocks you off balance. Through our free one to one telephone support and coaching, you’ll develop awareness and skills to prevent stressful events having a negative impact on your life.

Yormind is a website designed specifically for young people and it features over 50 different organisations that support young people in York. It is updated every 6 weeks so that young people and those who support them can trust the information which they are trying to access.

This service offers brief, focused, evidence-based mental health support for children, young people and families who are experiencing mild/moderate symptoms of anxiety and low mood.

We deliver a range of projects to support young people aged 8-25 who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and live within York and surrounding areas. Our young people’s counselling service provides a safe place for you to explore your feelings and the issues that are affecting your life.
