York Mind exists in order to promote recovery from mental ill-health, emotional well-being and
independent living.  We are continually reviewing and updating the services that we provide.

Yoga

York Mind Activities

We run a range of activities throughout the year. To access these you must be aged 18 or over, live in the City of York, identify with mental health and well-being issues and; wish to access support. Our facilitated Peer Support sessions provide a safe space for people to share experiences and develop coping strategies.

Advocacy

Our Advocates work with you to help you to say what you want, secure your rights, represent your interests and obtain services you need. We deliver a range of advocacy services including NHS complaints; Care Act advocacy and general advocacy support.

Counselling

Our Counsellors offer a regular space for you to talk about the issues that you have in your life. They are trained to help you explore your feelings and guide you through the issues affecting your life. We offer counselling sessions during the daytime and on some evenings and, in addition to our general counselling service, we have counsellors who work specifically with carers or young people.

Young People's Mentoring

Young People's Service

We deliver a range of projects to support young people aged 8-25 who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and live within York and surrounding areas. Our young people’s counselling service provides a safe place for you to explore your feelings and the issues that are affecting your life.
