Training

In August 2015 York Mind began to develop its training programme in response to an increasing number of requests to deliver expert mental health related training.

Over the past year we have recruited a qualified trainer/co-ordinator who has successfully delivered a range of taster sessions, training courses and workshops to a variety of organisations, businesses and services including; schools,  universities, charitable and private organisations, local authorities and health services. Participants have included; students, pupils, employers, managers and their workforce, carers, York Mind service-users, staff and volunteers.

Our comprehensive training programme covers a number of mental health related topics such as;

  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Confidence and Resilience
  • Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace (managers and their workforce)
  • Supporting Mental Health in Young People

In addition we access funding that enables us to provide subsidised and free training to both service-users of York Mind and individuals experiencing mental ill-health.

We have also delivered bespoke training that meets your individual service or organisations needs and offer options to deliver this ourselves or alternatively we will develop a tailored training programme for your staff team to deliver in-house to your workforce.

2017 will be an exciting year as we have expanded our training provision to include Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), safeTALK sessions and Mindfulness.
