Peer support is not a therapy group. People in our peer support groups come together and share their experiences and support each other. The concept is that by sharing experiences, people will feel less alone and find ways to cope with their emotions and difficulties. Peer support is not the same as therapy or counselling.
Structured Well-Being Group is delivered by Roger and is face to face.
Members who sign up to this group will be offered 8 weeks peer support initially, with an option to continue in the peer group, if space is available. The group will provide space for peer support and topic focused learning. This is a closed group, no new members will be added after the start date of the group. Attendance will be monitored with an expectation members attend each week and take responsibility to ring in if unable to attend.
The next round of this Peer support group will be confirmed shortly.

1Is Peer Support a therapy group?
2Is Peer Support confidential?
Our peer support groups are confidential to their members. Members sign up to a member agreement, including ground rules for the group; respect, confidentiality, etc.
3Do I have to attend Peer Support every week?
Please see full descriptions of our groups above.
There is an expectation that you attend on a regular basis and contact York Mind if you are unable to attend. As our groups provide a safe, consistent and supportive environment, attendance is important. As groups often operate waiting lists, we continually monitor attendance and spaces. We will review your place regularly, to ensure you are getting the most out of the group and it is the right support for you.
