About the service
Counselling is a safe, confidential space where you can talk with a trained professional about whatever is on your mind. Your counsellor will listen without judgement and help you explore your feelings, thoughts, behaviours and experiences, so you can begin to make sense of what’s going on for you.
We can offer you 6 free sessions, each one lasting around 50 minutes. These are usually held weekly either in-person at our premises at Highcliffe House in Clifton (YO30 6BP) or online.
Eligibility
You can access the service if you:
- are aged 12-21 (those aged 18-21 also have the choice of Adult Counselling)
- a resident within a City of York Council ward, or are under the care of the City of York Council (CYC), or are a care leaver with a CYC Pathway Plan
- not attending university in York (those at university can access Adult Counselling)
