Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Educating people about mental health helps to open up conversations, break down stigma, and encourage mental health resilience. 
We offer the full 2-day course and also the 1-day (Champions) course and MHFA refresher

Suicide Prevention 

ASIST is a 2-day widely recognised certified workshop in suicide first aid. It teaches anyone practical skills for suicide first aid, helping them recognise risk, provide immediate help, and connect individuals with support, using a structured model to create safety plans and build prevention networks. It's for everyone, from community members and teachers to healthcare professionals, equipping them to intervene effectively and compassionately to keep someone safe from suicide

SafeTALK is the half day version of ASIST and teaches participants to recognise when someone might be at risk of suicide and work with them to secure immediate safety.
We also have our own version of suicide prevention which is available both face to face and online.

Mental wellbeing for schools and colleges

We offer various courses designed to raise awareness around stress management and mental well-being. Let us adapt our quality material to suit your needs, whether that is to a whole-year-group or more intimate workshops.

Mental Health in the workplace

This course is designed to increase employee understanding of mental health issue so that staff can identify difficulties in themselves or early whilst also building resilience.

Mental Health in the workplace for Line Managers

This course is aimed at line managers with a view to gaining practical insight into how to manage and support the mental well-being of their team, also how to manage mental ill-health and absence.

Neurodiversity awareness in the workplace

Breaking down barriers and enabling shared understanding of neurodiversity. It encompasses conditions such as, autism, AHDH and dyslexia, affecting about 15% of the population. This course promotes inclusivity by helping participants to understand and appreciate cognitive diversities.

Mindfulness

Incorporating ancient wisdom with the latest neuroscience, mindfulness is proven to help with managing stress, clarity of thoughts, focus, contentment and general mental well-being.

Stress Management

This course teaches delegates how to recognise the signs and triggers around stress before suggesting strategies to manage life’s stresses and even live a healthier, happier life

Assertiveness

So many of us feel we can’t say how we feel or ask for what we need. This training gives you a change to learn some strategies to help you to be and feel more assertive in the workplace and in your personal life.

Our training partners are confident and experienced public speakers, happy to add interest to your event on a wide range of mental health topics.

All courses are delivered by our training partner - Mark Willis

Mark is an extremely experienced PGCE qualified trainer who has been trusted with delivering York Mind training since 2015.

He has delivered hundreds of hours worth of mental well-being workshops to local and national businesses , plus local authorities, universities, schools and other charities.
