Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering

Volunteers are engaged in a variety of roles throughout the organisation. From counselling and befriending to fundraising and administration, York Mind relies on volunteers to help deliver its services supporting people recovering from mental ill health.

Volunteers are a valued part of our team and we work hard to ensure that our volunteers have a rewarding experience. As a volunteer, you will receive a full induction, training and ongoing support as required.

Applying to become a volunteer

Current opportunities are advertised on the website. Click on the relevant link to the left-hand side of this information tab to view the roles we are currently recruiting for. There won’t always be opportunities available so do keep checking back!

Please note that we only accept applications for current positions advertised. General applications will not be considered.

All prospective volunteers are asked to complete an application form. This can be downloaded here or requested at the email address below. If your application is shortlisted you will be invited to a volunteer interview for us to find out a bit more about you and vice versa! Please bear in mind that we generally ask for a minimum six-month commitment for all roles except fundraising.

To find out more you can email office@yorkmind.org.uk or phone 01904 643364.

New opportunities come up regularly, so if none of these roles are suitable do keep checking back to the website for a volunteer role to suit your skills and interests. We aim to respond to all volunteer enquiries within two weeks.
