Peer Support Groups

Our peer support groups are led by people who have personal experience of mental health issues. The groups bring together people who experience mental distress with others who have similar issues and diagnoses. There is the opportunity to discuss these issues, but more importantly there is a focus on ways of coping that may give a person hope for the future.

In all our groups clients share experiences and coping strategies. Members learn about their mental health issues in order to be better able to manage their condition. The peer support groups cover topics, such as talking therapies, exercise, stress management and relaxation.

We currently offer the following groups:

Peer Support Groups weekly, afternoon or evening

These groups provide a way for people to take control of their mental health. Clients are encouraged to draw upon their own personal resources and build upon their strengths and skills. The groups provide a supportive environment for people to keep well and manage their symptoms. We currently run 2 afternoon groups and 1 evening group.
