About the Service:

Action Towards Inclusion is a collaborative project involving a number of different organisations across York, North Yorkshire and East Riding as part of the national Building Better Opportunities programme.

It aims to offer long-term holistic support to people who are unemployed and experiencing difficulties relating to health, social exclusion, poverty & employability skills, to help overcome these and move closer towards job-search, training, education and employment.

How can this help me?

We believe that people with mental health difficulties should get the support and respect they deserve, and work in a way which aims to encompass all aspects of a person’s life: personal, social and professional.

You will work one to one with a keyworker who will help you to identify and access the support that is most meaningful to you and your situation.  This may include:

  • well-being and personal development activities
  • financial support and advice
  • employability skills such as English, Maths, ICT, CV writing and job searching
  • enrolment in training
  • volunteering and/or other work experience opportunities
  • counselling

Throughout, your keyworker will provide ongoing one to one emotional and practical support and encouragement.
