New Activity Partners sought: Mental Health & Wellbeing Activities Programme

Since July 2017, York Mind have delivered a successful Mental Health and Well-being Activities Programme, funded by City of York Council.

For the past 4 years we have worked in partnership with a number of local organisations, to deliver a wide range of activities for adults 18+, who are resident in the City of York. The programme supports the Early Intervention and Prevention Agenda for the City and is designed to work with different partners each year, to ensure diversity, and meet client need.

Current partners are York LGBT Forum, RAY, Explore York, Hoglets Theatre, Thrive Outside, Blueberry Academy, York City Knights, Portal Bookshop, Kyra and York Carers Centre.

We have recently received a further 1 year extension to the project, taking us up to July 2022, and are now actively seeking new partnership proposals from local organisations, to deliver new activities in Year 5 of our contract, from July 2021.

Please see below our Activities Brochure, which outlines the background to the programme and the partners we are currently working with in Year 4. The brochure details the diverse range of activities delivered.

We are seeking respected organisations in the local area, who could offer a new range of activities and compliment the programme and its objectives. We believe this would be an ideal opportunity for partnership working. We are looking for new bespoke ideas and are not prescriptive on what can be delivered, as long as the activity fits with the ethos of the programme.

Covid 19 Diversity- The past year has brought about a number of challenges to how services are delivered, and received by participants. We are looking for partners and activity ideas, that can be adaptable and resilient to sudden changes brought on by the pandemic. This could include adapting delivery from face to face, to online at short notice.

Funding and Partnership

Previously our partners have submitted proposals ranging between £500 and £12,000, dependent on the breadth and number of activities they are delivering, and the timescale of delivery.

York Mind are the lead partner for the contract. We provide the Single Point of Access for the Activities Programme and co-ordinate enrolments and evaluations, monitoring, etc. This means that partners do not receive additional funding for coordination costs, only for delivery of activities.

The programme is delivered under a Memorandum of Understanding and each partner delivers activities in a subcontracting capacity to York Mind.

*Please note that funding for the programme cannot be used to subsidise/ provide continuation funding, for already existing activities within your organisation.

Please see below proposal template and complete accordingly, if you would like to work in partnership with York Mind and deliver activities under this programme.

We know that you will be unable to provide exact dates/times, etc but we would appreciate basic information of your proposed plans including timescales/months for delivery, as this will enable us to ensure we have a spread of activities across guided learning, social and well-being, across a full delivery year.

Please include a breakdown of costs involved in activity delivery:

  • Staff Salaries: include where this will involve direct delivery and how many hours per week.
  • Facilitator costs.
  • Venue costings: where you would like to use York Mind’s facilities please state this and the location e.g. Highcliffe House.
  • Overheads - to include minimal publicity.
  • Materials/resources.
  • Other- include a breakdown of what these costs are.
  • Criteria for participants to access your activities.

As stated above, York Mind provide the Single Point of Access for the Activities Programme and co-ordinate enrolments and evaluations, monitoring etc, your costings should not include these costs.

Deadline date for initial proposals is: Tuesday 9th March 2021.

Please note receipt of your proposal, does not confirm acceptance of delivery and partnership.

The proposals from partners current and new will be submitted to our Steering Group for consideration.

If you would like to discuss in more detail any ideas you may have before submitting a proposal, please let us know and we can arrange a time to meet and discuss.
