What is it? 

It is a 6 week early intervention project to support young people through a mix of art media ranging from sculpture and watercolors to collage and painting

The group is designed to develop: confidence, communication skills, self-esteem and self-expression and offers an opportunity to connect with others.

We will actively support young people to engage in conversations around mental health and help them to discover different positive coping strategies through using a range of art media. This will involve using components of peer support, psychoeducation and creativity.

Who is it for?

The group will support young people age 11-18 yrs, particularly young males aged 13-16ys , who are experiencing mental health challenges.

When is it?

5 separate groups will run throughout the year

Group 1 start date:

4th November-9th December 2024

Mondays 4.30-6pm @ York Mind's Office

(Highcliffe House, Highcliffe Court, Clifton, York, YO30 6BP)

How do I access support?

Places on all of these groups will be allocated on a first come first serve basis through submitting a referral form

Young people themselves are welcome to make referrals as well as parents, carers or other professionals on their behalf.

Under 16yrs old will need written parent/carer consent.

Please make referrals by October 31st 2024 for the first group. Other group dates will be advertised via our website, so please keep an eye out!
