We are looking for young people to help shape the work of York Mind, as well as inputting into wider meetings and services.York Mind steering group has been established since December 2017, at present we have 3 young people and we are on the look out for 5 more young people aged between 16-25, who have experienced some of the services at York Mind, and/ or have experienced other mental health services in the region.
The Young People's Steering Group has been set up to allow young people to:
Feedback views on York Mind support and activities
Inform the design and delivery of York Mind Young Peoples service
Break down stigma and challenge discrimination around young people's mental health
Campaign for change to be make things better for young people (Including increased access to information and support)
All of the work is developed by the young people in the group and supported by the Young Persons’ Manager. In addition to the monthly meetings, group members are developing work in their own time, allocating tasks to ensure that awareness talks are developed and delivered to a high standard.
