How we help

Steering Group4Y1A5650_SC

York Mind steering group has been established since December 2017, and is currently made up of 9 young people, aged between 13 and 19 who have all accessed support for their mental health. The steering group was established to influence the direction of the Young People’s Service, by listening directly to what young people want and need from services.

All of the work is developed by the young people in the group and supported by the Young Persons’ Manager. In addition to the monthly meetings, group members are developing work in their own time, allocating tasks to ensure that awareness talks are developed and delivered to a high standard. As a result of the steering group, we have developed our initial assessment process for young people, amended interview questions for Volunteer Mentors and been supported with the direction of a young persons’ counselling service.

If you have any questions, please contact youngpeople@yorkmind.org.uk
