6th April 2019 - 27th October 2019, 12:00 at Kunsthuis Gallery
Our young people's mentoring service offers you the opportunity to receive weekly 1:1 recovery focused mentoring, for a period of 16 weeks. Your mentor will help you to use a self-assessment tool called the 'Recovery Star' to explore different topics, and identify where you are struggling. From there, you will be supported to set long-term goals, which the mentor will help you break down into smaller goals week by week. Your mentor will explore mental health resources with you to help you identify and try out coping strategies.
Mentoring aims to build your independence in coping with mental health struggles. Your mentor will work alongside you to help discover what strategies work for you, listening to your views and experiences. They will speak to you as a person, not just focusing on your mental health, but also your passions and interests. As the sessions progress, your mentor will help you look at how you will continue to use the coping strategies that you have developed during the support beyond the end date, and how you will move on positively from the service.
