Volunteer Mentor for Young People

Young People's Mentoring

We are looking to recruit volunteer mentors to work with young people aged between 8-21. We are particularly looking for volunteers who are interested in working with the 8-13 age group.

Mentoring is delivered in one hour sessions, delivered fortnightly over 3-6 months. As a mentor, you will build a supportive relationship with young people with the aim of helping them to set long-term goals, and then break those goals down into short-term steps. As well as supporting young people with their mental health, in the mentoring you will learn about young people's hobbies and interests, encouraging them to take positive steps in their life.

Mentoring can take place in person, over the phone and over video call. We are currently offering phone and video call options, and are hopeful to take steps over the coming months towards offering this support within the building.

The volunteering includes taking part in a three half days of training prior to starting to equip you for the role.

Click here for the role description, and here for the application form. Please return the application to by 9am on Monday 21st September 2020. Interviews will take place on Friday 25th September. As we offer a high level of support to each volunteer and so only take on a certain number of volunteers, the application process is competitive.

Please contact with any queries or to arrange a phone call to find out more about the role.
