Volunteer Counselling Administrator
Are you an experienced administrator? Do you enjoy working in a role which supports helping others and want to use your skills to make a positive, lasting impact with a local charity? Are you looking for a new challenge or to gain experience of working within a charitable organisation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated volunteer administrator to help us with the delivery of our counselling service.
Our counselling service offers people a regular space to talk about the issues that they are experiencing in their life and help find solution that are right for them and their situation. We provide general counselling on a daytime and an evening, in addition to services specifically for Carers and Young People. The smooth delivery of these services relies upon the accurate and timely delivery of varied administrative support, and we are currently looking for people to help us with this.
Ideally we are looking for someone who would be able to commit one day a week working across our Young People’s counselling service which is based at our premises at 30 Clarence Street and our general & carers counselling services which are based at Highcliffe Court. However, the role can easily be split into two separate volunteer administrators roles (each offering approx. 3 to 4 hours per week) if this is preferred. Full training will be provided.
Requirements for this role include a genuine interest in wanting to provide services which support people recovering from mental ill-health, and experience of working in an administrative role. Please see the attached role description for more information. The recruitment process will involve an informal discussion with the counselling team, collection of references and an enhanced DBS check.
If you would like to chat about the role please contact the Counselling Manager, Helen Fairburn, on 01904 643364 (Option 1).
